| Overall comments:
The artists are all to be congratulated for contributing to an
impressive show. Also, special recognition is appropriate for those who
installed the works.
In some of the categories, especially mixed media & painting
these were far more meritorious works then the 4 awards indicate. We
could have easily selected several more winners.
Although we acknowledge that art judging and appreciation is a
subjective, personal process, we made every effort to address common
standards: expertise in use of materials, arresting visual effects,
unity of composition, and individual creativity. It was a challenge to
narrow the selections, but also a great pleasure to examine the art
works intimately and intensely. |
