Medical Corps Caduceus

Each piece of glass in the Medical Corps Caduceus is hand cut, foiled, soldered and patined. The Caduceus has the Army Department colors and can be representative the other branches of the Army Medical Department by adding the appropriate letter N, D, V or S. It can also be done in Silver for Medical Service Corps. It is approximately 14"x17" and is framed with 1 1/2" wooden frame.

The hummingbird has been a source of wonder and envy for hundreds of years At one time, it was even believed to be half butterfly and half bird. There are over 500 species, with the male usually possessing beautiful iridescent plumage. His long sharp bill is used as a weapon in frequent and earnest battle with enemies. Hummingbirds are attracted to showy bright flowers: they eat insects and the nectar of flowers. 

My version of the tiny hummingbird comes in a variety of colors, most often with contrasting hues and interesting combinations. The brilliant shades are reflected by the sunshine and make this hummingbird a treasured addition to your home or a welcomed gift.

The frame on this is made with bevels and a special design, it is open and totally original.

Each 3-D Bluebonnet petal is positioned differently, giving this piece an original concept.

Depicting the Texas State Flower, the background (The shape of Texas) can be color of choice or made with red, white and blue glass.

18"x14"
This design includes a 4"x6" bevel with handpainted bluebonnets, this also can be made smaller w/2"x4" bevel. It is framed with came and decorative soldering.
