Title: "Four Fat Ladies Havin' Fun" Medium: Acrylic on paper, mixed media Size: 18" x 24" Creation on: 3:00 am. I decided to empty my mind of tension. With a paint Brush in each hand and Chaka Khan doing her thing on a CD, I started slinging paint. I was literally dancing about. I spied my glue gun idling and decided to experiment. This is the result. I had the best time ever. Artist: Mary Jo Gregory

Title: "Hyo, Hyo, Ipseh Nyo" (Who Knows) Medium: Textiles, Mixed Media, papier mache forms Size: 12' x 50 '' Creation on: I store hand made papier mache' in stockings. They hang on my wall like strange fruit harvest until I need them. Fellow Artist Linda McMurray saw them in the raw one day and found them to be worthy of attention. I saw the sculptural possibilities of them and started putting the pieces together. I don't know what it is, but I like it. Artist: Mary Jo Gregory

"Wisdom's Daughter I" Mama at the Lake Medium: Acrylic on Paper Size: 18" x 24" Mama and I were at the Lake. She looked into the distance with the face toward the sun, and I saw a painting. I asked permission to takeher long hair out of its bun, and then ran for my camera. She looked sage, and wise, and tenderlypoignant all at once. Artist: Mary JoGregory

Title: "Island Life" Medium: Acrylic Washes on paper Size: 16" x 20" Creation on: This was a happy accident. I looked under a piece that I was doing and found this marvelous mix of colors on the underlying art paper. There was an island feel to it, and I enhanced some of the darkest spaces to become two people. It looked better than what I was working on. There's a lesson of not taking oneself too seriously Artist: Mary Jo Gregory
