Jim Mortimer been doing art since his early years at school and has always made doodles and drawings.

He now creates wonderful and intricate woodcarvings, watercolor and acrylic paintings.

Jim is a member of both the Killeen Civic Art Guild and the Centroplex Woodcarvers groups.

He enjoys doing all forms of art and cites the late John Carter as his inspiration.

Artist Jim Mortimer joined the Navy in 1946 when he was just 16 years old. He spent a few years as as a naval man and after leaving the service he joined the US Army, retiring in 1972 after 26 years of combined military service. After his military years, Jim was a lineman for Cablevision and also a permit engineer.
